A customer has asked your company to complete EcoVadis, but the work is spreading across policies, data, documents and several departments. Get practical support deciding what to do first and keeping the assessment moving.
Book Your Free Strategy CallWhat first looks like an online questionnaire can quickly become a cross-company project. You may need input from HR, procurement, operations, health and safety, finance and senior management—while also trying to work out which documents count as useful evidence.
You may recognise some of these problems:
First Assessment Support gives you experienced help with your own deadline, questionnaire, documents and internal team.
This route is designed for first-time EcoVadis coordinators and small teams that need more than general information. You can ask for help at the beginning or after you have already started and realised the assessment is harder to organise than expected.
On a free introductory call, you explain the customer request, deadline, current progress and where the uncertainty sits.
I recommend a starting scope and set out the included work, timing, deliverables and fee before you decide whether to proceed.
We clarify the assessed entity, owners, questionnaire position, existing documents and the most important early gaps.
Support may include working sessions, document feedback, stakeholder actions and preparation toward submission, depending on the agreed scope.
Clarify which entity is being assessed, what the customer has requested and how the available time affects the plan.
Identify who should contribute from HR, procurement, operations, finance, health and safety and leadership.
Work through the questions relevant to your company without guessing, overclaiming or treating every gap as equally urgent.
Identify missing foundations and review whether existing documents are specific, owned and connected to the assessed company.
Look beyond policies to the controls, training, audits, supplier activities and performance data that show implementation.
Organise what already exists, identify important gaps and create clearer requests for colleagues who hold the evidence.
A smaller engagement may focus on setting up the assessment and creating a first action plan. A longer engagement may include document feedback, progress calls, stakeholder coordination and submission preparation.
EcoVadis makes the assessment and scoring decisions. The support can help your team prepare more deliberately and address avoidable gaps, but it cannot guarantee a score, medal or other outcome.
I previously led my former company through the EcoVadis process and learned first-hand how much cross-functional work sits behind a credible submission. That work contributed to the company achieving an EcoVadis Platinum rating.
Today, I combine approximately 15 years of corporate sustainability experience, an MSc in Strategic Sustainable Development and my work as a certified EcoVadis Solutions Practitioner to help companies make clearer preparation and improvement decisions.
