Current EcoVadis Medal Thresholds

EcoVadis publishes monthly snapshots of the minimum overall scores corresponding to its four medal percentile tiers.

The following values are the official initial thresholds for October 2026, calculated using data from 1 October 2026.

Bronze 66 Top 35%
65th percentile+
Silver 75 Top 15%
85th percentile+
Gold 82 Top 5%
95th percentile+
Platinum 88 Top 1%
99th percentile+

Important: These figures represent EcoVadis's beginning-of-month snapshot. The actual threshold may shift as more assessments are published during the month. Reaching a threshold does not automatically guarantee medal eligibility.

This archive preserves the dated monthly snapshots published directly by EcoVadis. New snapshots will be added as they become available.

How Have EcoVadis Medal Thresholds Changed?

EcoVadis medal score requirements have changed considerably since 2020. However, the method used to award medals also changed in January 2024.

For that reason, historical fixed score thresholds, dated score equivalents and consultancy estimates are presented separately. They are not all the same type of evidence.

2020-2023: Annual Fixed Score Thresholds

Before January 2024, EcoVadis used fixed annual score bands associated with its medal levels. The table below shows the historical minimum overall score for each medal.

Year Bronze Silver Gold Platinum Source
2020 45 54 66 73 Arcade Beauty
2021 45 54 66 73 Gränges
2022 47 56 67 75 Deutsche Bahn
2023 50 59 70 78 Panagos Stand

Sources are company publications reproducing the medal criteria used during the relevant years. These are minimum overall scores, not individual company results. Historical eligibility conditions also applied.

During this period, Bronze corresponded to the top 50% of assessed companies and Silver to the top 25%. Gold and Platinum represented the top 5% and top 1%, respectively.

2024: Dated Score Equivalents

From January 2024, EcoVadis stopped using fixed annual score bands for medal allocation. Instead, recognition depends on percentile rank at the time the scorecard is published.

Companies nevertheless published date-specific score equivalents. Two particularly useful historical references have been identified.

Reference date Bronze Silver Gold Platinum Source
1 Jan 2024 56 64 72 80 Martela
1 Jul 2024 58 66 73 81 Oriflame

These figures are dated score equivalents reported by companies. They are not authenticated EcoVadis monthly snapshot publications and should not be treated as fixed annual thresholds.

An additional corporate source, Epson's Sustainability Report 2025 , independently reports that the Platinum threshold was 80 from January to June 2024 and 81 from July 2024.

2025-2026: Published Estimates and Observations

A complete official monthly threshold history has not yet been recovered for this period. However, sustainability consultancies have published estimates and dated observations based on their client assessment experience.

These figures provide useful historical reference points, but they should not be confused with official EcoVadis monthly snapshots.

Reference date Bronze Silver Gold Platinum Source
Jul 2025 — ~68 ~77 — Nexio Projects
Jan 2026 — ~72 ~78 — Nexio Projects
1 Jul 2026 65 73 81 87 Good.Lab
31 Aug 2026 65 74 82 88 Act For Now

A dash (—) means no sufficiently reliable value was established from the cited source. The approximate symbol (~) distinguishes estimated benchmarks from official thresholds. Sources are linked directly in the table.

Evidence limitation: The July 2025 and January 2026 figures come from Nexio Projects' internal benchmarking. Good.Lab reports dated cutoffs for July 2026, while Act For Now reports observations from its client assessments in August 2026. None of these rows has been authenticated as an official EcoVadis monthly snapshot.

The available historical evidence suggests that the scores associated with medal recognition have generally increased. However, the figures come from different sources and methods, so they should not be interpreted as one continuous official dataset.

An authenticated official monthly series for January 2024 through September 2026 has not yet been recovered.

How Have the EcoVadis Medal Rules Changed?

Historical scores should always be interpreted in the context of the medal rules that applied at the time.

2020: Platinum recognition

Platinum was introduced as the highest EcoVadis medal level. Annual score bands identified the minimum overall scores for each medal.

2022-2023: Higher annual thresholds

EcoVadis raised its fixed score bands. For example, the minimum Gold score increased from 66 in 2021 to 67 in 2022 and 70 in 2023.

January 2024: Percentile-based allocation

EcoVadis replaced annually fixed medal score boundaries with allocation based on percentile rank at scorecard publication. Bronze became the top 35% instead of the top 50%, and Silver became the top 15% instead of the top 25%. Gold remained the top 5% and Platinum the top 1%.

2024-2026: Moving score equivalents

Under the percentile-based system, the overall score corresponding to each medal level can change as the assessed population changes. Historical company disclosures and consultancy estimates illustrate this development.

Why Can the Same Score Earn a Different Medal?

An EcoVadis overall score is measured on a scale from 0 to 100. A medal, however, recognises relative performance within the EcoVadis-rated population.

Since January 2024, percentile rank has been calculated at the time the scorecard is published, using assessments from the preceding 12 months.

A score that qualified for Gold at one point in time may qualify for Silver at a later reassessment if the score distribution has changed.

This does not mean a medal already awarded is downgraded retroactively. EcoVadis medals remain valid for 12 months from scorecard publication, subject to the applicable rules.

Score Thresholds Are Not the Only Requirement

Reaching the overall score corresponding to a medal does not automatically make a company eligible for recognition.

Under the current criteria, a company must score at least 30 in each of the four assessment themes: Environment, Labor & Human Rights, Ethics and Sustainable Procurement.

Additional eligibility conditions apply, including rules relating to 360° Watch findings and restricted commercial activities or industries.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does EcoVadis publish medal score thresholds?

Yes. EcoVadis currently publishes monthly snapshots of the minimum overall scores corresponding to its medal percentile tiers. These are reference points and the exact required scores may change during the month.

What score do I need for EcoVadis Gold?

Gold recognises eligible companies in the top 5% of the assessed population. The minimum overall score can change over time. Check the current threshold figures at the top of this page for the latest published reference.

Does my assessment submission date matter?

Medal recognition is determined using the applicable criteria when your scorecard is published, not when you submit the questionnaire.

Are medal thresholds different by industry?

Under the current methodology, medal percentile thresholds are calculated across companies of all industries, sizes and geographies. Assessment questions and criteria can still vary according to the company's profile.

Were EcoVadis thresholds updated every January and July?

Historical sources identify score equivalents for January and July 2024, and later consultancy benchmarks also refer to these months. However, a formal twice-yearly EcoVadis publication schedule has not been established from the available evidence.

Why are some historical months missing?

Not every historical monthly threshold could be verified from reliable published records. Rather than filling gaps with guesses, this archive distinguishes official snapshots, company-reported figures and consultancy estimates.

About This Resource

How Historical Figures Are Evaluated

Original EcoVadis publications and dated source documents are prioritised. Historical figures are classified as official thresholds, company-reported values or third-party estimates to distinguish between different levels of evidence.

Figures repeated across multiple websites are not automatically considered independently verified. Individual company results are not treated as proof of minimum medal thresholds.

Where reliable historical figures cannot be established, values are left unverified rather than estimated.
